2026 Shearing Evaluation
The Australian Merino Production Trial shearing program is a critical data-collection milestone, delivering high-quality, independently measured performance information that underpins genetic evaluation, industry benchmarking and long-term productivity outcomes for the Australian Merino industry.
A sample of the heaviest 240 lambs on entry, now averaging 67kg. Lambs are across 5 pens based on their entry weights. AMPT is clearly highlighting the opportunity to value-add Merino lambs and the role that genetics plays in the conversion of silage & grains to high value meat.
